The 2010 Sustainability Report is an online-only report, reflecting both growing good practice and a desire to reduce environmental and cost impacts. Responding to stakeholder feedback, the Report focuses concisely on performance in the year, with a separate section covering the Group’s management approach.

An overview of the 2010 Performance Report:

  • 8% (600 000 tonnes) decrease in absolute carbon dioxide equivalent emissions from operations under BG Group’s control;

  • Since 2007, 769 000 tonnes of sustainable greenhouse gas reductions have been achieved towards the 2012 target of one million tonnes of sustainable reductions;

  • IFC-based Social Performance Standard implemented across the Group’s operated businesses;

  • Focus on major hazard awareness; and

  • Strategic water management plan developed.
