Polycom, KGSR, and Make-A-Wish Partner to Make Wishes Come True at SXSW®

Austin, TX., March 13, 2013 /3BL Media/ – Polycom presents the annual KGSR SXSW® (South by Southwest®) Live Broadcast at the stylish and luxurious W Austin, March 13th thru March 16th.  For a five dollar donation to the Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas, guests enjoy four hours of exclusive, live interviews and performances from featured SXSW® artists.  This year’s lineup includes The Courtyard Hounds, Fitz & The Tantrums, Charlie Mars, Michael Kiwanuka, Third Eye Blind, ZZ Ward, Steve Earle and a special performance by Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell.

As the exclusive technology partner for the broadcast, Polycom, the global leader in open standards-based unified communications and collaboration (UC&C), will be live streaming all four days of the event at www.kgsr.com. During intermissions, viewers will be able to watch the personal stories of strength, hope and joy shared by Austin area Wish Kids and their families.  “We’re excited to be partnered with KGSR and Make-A-Wish for another year”, said John Antanaitis, Polycom’s Vice President of Product and Alliance Marketing, “SXSW is a special time in Austin, and we’re glad to be able to share the excitement of the broadcast and the inspirational stories of the Wish Kids with folks around the world through our live stream. Last year we were able to grant several wishes with the broadcast proceeds and hope to exceed that this year.”

During the broadcast, both in studio and at home viewers will have an option to text to donate to Make-A-Wish. In 2012, the broadcast raised over $16,000.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The Foundation’s mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish® experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors, and entire communities. Locally, the Central & South Texas chapter covers 40 counties in Texas and has granted over 3,200 wishes since it was founded in 1984, including granting 228 wishes last year.
