Out@TWC Supports AIDS Project Los Angeles for the World AIDS Day Food Drive

For World AIDS Day 2015, Out@TWC – the LGBT Employee Network of Time Warner Cable – will partner with AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) to collect non-perishable food donations and personal hygiene items for persons living with HIV/AIDS.  The principal components of this campaign are donation bins which Out@TWC has placed in seven of our Southern California offices.  At each site employees can easily drop-off any of the necessary items vital to the health and support of those living with HIV/AIDS.

Startlingly, AIDS Project Los Angeles sees over 6,000 low-income clients every single year, with an average income of less than $800/mo. To help combat these figures, the Vance North Necessities of Life Program (NOLP) operates 8 food pantries across Los Angeles where APLA clients are able to bring home the equivalent of four bags of groceries every single week at no charge.  In recognition of this incredible effort, Out@TWC is collecting food & toiletries to ensure that the NOLP warehouses stay stocked through the holiday season.

Additionally, Out@TWC members will be joining other TWC volunteers in a day of service at the APLA NOLP food bank.  Throughout the day, volunteers will be bagging groceries, assembling paper/plastic bag combinations, stocking warehouse shelves, and bagging produce.  This volunteer opportunity will be open to all employees and will be an excellent way to ring in the holiday season.
