FISHERS, Ind., March 25, 2022 /3BL Media/ - Land Betterment Corporation (“Land Betterment” or the “Company”), an environmental solutions company fostering positive impact through upcycling former coal mining and industrial sites to create sustainable community development and job creation, announced that their ekō Villages of Hope, which provide fully-furnished and operational container-based ekō homes to areas affected by natural disasters and other communities of need, continues to expand its impact through its private sponsorship model and its associated corporate donations.

Through its partnership with Container Solutions Inc., ekō is able to scale up production of sustainable container homes to a point of completing 5 homes per week. “The combination of efficient production along with custom elements makes the ekō housing solution unique, especially when it comes to rebuilding communities following a crisis,” commented team lead, Peter Rodriquez.

Following a natural disaster, like the one that hit western Kentucky with devastating tornados in December 2021, housing is often the most complex and longest lead-time resource to procure, and essential for communities to rebuild. Residences are left fending for themselves and trying to rebuild their lives out of a shelter. The ekō Villages of Hope provide a stable foundation for victims to rebuild from.

ekō Villages of Hope is the leading example of real partnerships to bring efficient solutions to communities in need. “People say ‘why?’ about container houses in general, but the answer is, ‘why not?’ They are very safe and safer than a normal framed home. In fact, shipping containers just sit, unused, so why not put them to good use and generate revenue. The small home market is relatively untapped so there is a real opportunity here to provide a viable solution which is quality built. Through the partnership with Community Foundation of West Kentucky, both corporations and charities can sponsor homes for families needing a safe home to rebuild their lives," Assistant General Manager Stetson Schaible said.
