FISHERS, Ind., March 2, 2021, /3BL Media/ - Land Betterment Corporation (“Land Betterment” or the “Company”), an environmental solutions company fostering positive impact through upcycling former coal mining sites to create sustainable community development and job creation, is pleased to discuss the renovation progress and first lease of the Company’s Entrepreneur Zone.  Located in the City of Hazard, Kentucky, the Entrepreneur Zone was established by Land Betterment as an office building that focuses on the incubation, fostering, and promotion of regional and local businesses. The goal of the Entrepreneur Zone is to provide resources to regional start-up businesses that are looking for private and public resources to help their businesses grow.

After 5 months, every room of the Entrepreneur Zone building has been thoroughly renovated and upgraded.  The building, built in the 1960s and then expanded in the 1980s, once housed the corporate offices of a local coal mining operation and has seen little change or improvements to its spaces since inception.  Land Betterment saw the vision of what this underutilized, but potentially significant, property could be for the regional community in fostering economic diversification and new business growth.  From the soaring lobby with its trademark floating staircase, to the collaborative work spaces and offices suites, to the technology filled conference room, the Entrepreneur Zone will provide a modernized, resource-equipped, and scalable hub for entrepreneurs and companies of all size, from the sole entrepreneur to the more established company.

With renovations currently wrapping up, Land Betterment is also pleased to announce the first tenant of the Entrepreneur Zone; a company that is well known and respected in the field of materials handling technologies and elemental analysis through the use of density gauges and analyzers.  Currently based in Tennessee, this business has experienced rapid expansion and has enlisted the Entrepreneur Zone as its first foothold in the Central Appalachia region.

Completion of renovations is anticipated to occur in mid-April, which will coincide with the Entrepreneur Zone’s grand opening and community kick-off event.  With educators, local community leaders, valued partners, and local businesses in attendance, alongside the Land Betterment team, the Entrepreneur Zone’s grand opening will signify the formal launch of a key resource and regional incubation hub for small and growing businesses in a region that is under economic transition and will benefit from the support services provided.

Tom Sauve, Land Betterment’s Chief Development Officer commented, “We are thrilled for the launch of the Hazard, Kentucky Entrepreneur Zone and officially introducing the concept and support to all the entrepreneurs and growing businesses throughout eastern Kentucky and the region at-large.  The building, offices, suites, and collaboration areas all have been fully renovated to include the latest technologies and resources for today’s businesses.  Furthermore, by securing its first tenant before officially opening, the Entrepreneur Zone is already showing the wonderful opportunity it can provide to entrepreneurs.  As the date of our grand opening approaches, we will provide additional details surrounding the various programs and services that are offered at the Entrepreneur Zone, including unveiling “Phase 2” of the Entrepreneur Zone, which will include our upcoming “Land Betterment Village” that we are incredibly excited to introduce in summer 2021.”
