Help Puerto Rico and Hurricane Maria Relief Efforts

The people affected by Hurricane Maria are in desperate need of aid. The Category 4 storm which struck Puerto Rico on September 20 has caused massive destruction and left 3.5 million people in crisis. A vast majority of the island is still without power. Food and fuel is scarce. At PayPal, our thoughts go out to those who have been harmed by this terrible tragedy. We want to do all that we can, to help. We’ve launched a disaster relief campaign so that the PayPal community of customers and employees can respond, as you always do, in times of crisis. The campaign features charities that are working directly and through local partners to provide relief with emergency shelters, medical supplies, food and other forms of support. PayPal is covering all costs associated with these donations, ensuring that 100% of your contribution will be sent to your chosen organization(s) via the PayPal Giving Fund. Since the hurricane made landfall, we’ve also been supporting Unidos Por Puerto Rico (United for Puerto Rico), an initiative undertaken by the First Lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Rosselló in collaboration with the private sector to provide aid to those affected by the recent hurricanes Maria and Irma. Those who wish to assist, can make a donation here. It’s been an unprecented time with a series of natural disasters in the last few weeks. We are humbled and grateful for the outpouring of support from those of you who have generously responded to our appeals to aid relief efforts in the aftermath of the earthquakes in Mexico, Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Harvey. I hope you will continue to consider giving through these campaigns, and our most recent appeal to assist Puerto Rico. The people and places affected by these events have a long road to recovery, and the need for support will continue well into the future.
