GE Mobilizes 500 Volunteers and Celebrates One Year Anniversary of Developing Health Program in Detroit

More than 500 local General Electric (NYSE: GE) employees are volunteering their time to help take on some of today’s toughest challenges − healthcare for the uninsured and underinsured, education and aiding in the makeover of the Motor City − during the 3rd Annual GE Community Day across the Detroit area.

This year’s Community Day also marks the one year anniversary of GE’s Developing Health program in Detroit, celebrating its continuous efforts to give back to the communities where our employees live and work. The Developing Health efforts build on a two-year, $500,000 investment GE made to the Community Health and Social Services Center (CHASS) and The Wellness Plan in 2012 to develop, promote and provide comprehensive, accessible and affordable quality primary healthcare and support services to uninsured or underinsured populations throughout Detroit.
