GE Invests in eSolar to Manufacture Hybrid Power Plant

GE is investing in eSolar and licenses their technology in order to sell hybrid power plants that run on solar power during the day and natural gas at night. eSolar's technology adds a vital component to GE's renewable energy catalogue, which includes the new FlexEfficiency 50 combined cycle power plant design, a  single-shaft platform that defines a new standard for high efficiency and operational flexibility. The pairing of these designs represents the beginning of GE’s long-term plan to modify its power plant designs to use an increasing amount of renewable fuels to generate electricity.
