Franklin Templeton Celebrates 75th Anniversary With $75K Donation and Week of Volunteering
The week of November 14 marked Franklin Templeton’s 75th Anniversary and, as a key part of the celebration, the company organized an Impact Week to focus on community service. During the special week, several global “75”- themed charitable initiatives were introduced for employees to engage with colleagues and in their communities.
Throughout the week, employees voted to select three worthy international organizations to receive US $25,000 each, for donations totaling $75,000, in honor of the occasion.
Franklin Templeton sponsored the planting of 7,500 new trees around the world where they are needed most.
A selection of 75 simple ways to make an impact were presented as firm’s call-to-action for all employees to participate in Impact Week. These included a variety of ways for everyone at the company to give back, such as community service, acts of kindness, and green environmental actions.
Locally, to celebrate firm’s milestone and strong tradition for community service, employee volunteers organized many events to support their communities, including stocking stuffing for military members, clothing drives, renovating classrooms and donating school supplies.
Employees in San Mateo, CA, Rancho Cordova, CA and St. Petersburg, FL hosted stocking stuffing and holidays card writing events benefitting deployed troops and veterans at VA hospitals.
Employees in India hosted a blood donation drive, participated in a local school renovation project and distributed blankets to individuals experiencing homelessness.
Employees in Baltimore, MD hosted a winter coat drive to benefit long-time local charity partner and Stamford, CT employees organized a community gathering and Thanksgiving food drive.
Employees in Shanghai visited a local reformatory school and donated sports equipment and musical instruments to students and employees in Arizona helped pack food for local hunger organization.
