The China Entrepreneur Club (CEC) named Ecolab to its 2014 list of China’s Top 100 Green Companies. The announcement, made at the China Green Companies Summit, marks the second consecutive year that Ecolab has received the recognition.

“Innovation is a cornerstone of Ecolab’s sustainable development in China,” said Tim Wang, senior vice president and general manager, Ecolab Greater China. “We’re utilizing our industry-leading solutions and expertise to help local companies solve their operational challenges, operate more efficiently and improve their environmental footprint.”

The CEC recognized Ecolab for its commitment to innovation and sustainable development, and highlighted the company’s ongoing efforts to improve food safety and industrial water use throughout China.

“Ecolab is committed to promoting sustainable use of China’s limited water resources,” added Wang. “We’re working with enterprises throughout China to assess and reduce their water footprint.”

The company is widely recognized for its efforts to improve food safety in China. In 2011, Ecolab organized the Seven-Star Awards, now the most authoritative food safety recognition program in the country. The company also founded the Seven-Star Convention Alliance, a nonprofit, non-governmental organization that educates companies and consumers about food safety.

Ecolab currently has an innovation center, five manufacturing plants and more than 40 offices throughout Greater China.
