(3BL Media) St. Paul, MN - March 1, 2012 - During 2011, Ecolab Inc. (NYSE ECL) worked with non-profit organizations in the U.S. and around the world to donate more than $2 million of Ecolab products in support of disaster releif efforts.

One of several ways Ecolab supports organizations and individuals in need, the company's 2011 in-kind donations provided needed cleaning, health and sanitizing products to organizations soon after a natural disaster occured, benefitting thousands of people.

“Compassion for others is a core value of Ecolab and our 40,000 global employees,” said Douglas M. Baker, Jr., Ecolab chairman and chief executive officer. “When a disaster strikes, we quickly work with response organizations to bring in products that can help maintain and restore sanitation and public health.”

After last year’s severe storms and record flood levels in the U.S., the devastation of the earthquakes and tsunami in Japan and the destructive typhoon in the Philippines, Ecolab immediately sent cleaning and sanitizing products to assist with relief efforts.  Other countries where Ecolab provided donations in response to natural disasters included Mexico, Turkey, Brazil and the Dominican Republic.
