Contributions to the Community

Diageo aims to be a valuable corporate partner in the communities where we have offices and facilities. Under the umbrella of Diageo C.A.R.E.S, Diageo employees take on service projects throughout the year – ranging from soup kitchens to zoos to Habitat for Humanity projects to beach cleanups. These are often projects that are suggested and organized by one or a group of employees who feel passionate about a particular cause or organization.

Diageo also helps in other communities when disaster strikes. In 2001, the company formed the Diageo Spirit of the Americas foundation to provide disaster relief to communities all across the country and around the world in their hour of need. Diageo employees accompany the relief supplies to each crisis zone and help distribute the aid, every step of the way. Recent Spirit of the Americas relief efforts include delivering 32,000 pounds of bottled water to victims of the Flint, Michigan water crisis, providing high-capacity generators and distributing almost 85,000 bottles of water in the aftermath of Super Storm Sandy, and delivering 50,000 pounds of food and emergency supplies to Haiti-based NGOs after a massive earthquake.
