The Energy & Sustainability team is gearing up for CA World 2010 – CA’s biggest customer and partner event of the year – taking place at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, May 16–20, 2010.  We’re just a few days out from the start of the event, and over the next few days, we will be sharing highlights of our planned sessions and activities with you here on our blog.  We’re looking forward to seeing you in Las Vegas!

First up, if you’re looking to gain insights into why improving energy efficiency makes sense for your business, you must include Datotel’s session “If You Can't Measure Energy You Can't Manage IT Cost: Lessons Learned from a Cloud Computing Manager” on your agenda (click here for the online Agenda Builder).

David Brown, president of Datotel, a provider co-location, managed services and cloud computing resources, will share first-hand how the company effectively manages its energy costs and consumption. In this session, you’ll learn how Datotel manages SLA compliance (power and environmental), reduces power consumption, offers accurate and timely invoicing, and reduces its carbon footprint. David will walk you through Datotel’s recent decision to replace an outdated energy management system in order to monitor all existing energy-related devices such as racks, generators and cooling units; and how CA’s ecoSoftware solution tracks energy use down to the customer level, allowing Datotel to share the data on a monthly basis via its online customer portal.

You can learn more about Datotel at its website and by following @Datotel and David directly at @ddbrown on Twitter. For additional information on the Energy & Sustainability focus area at CA World 2010, visit our topic page here
