He was appalled by this tragedy, and it inspired him to found KaBOOM!. Since then, cause marketing leader KaBOOM! has grown from a two-person operation run from the back table of a deli into a national nonprofit organization that – in its 15th Birthday Year – will have raised $200 million, rallied 1 million volunteers, led the hands-on construction of 2,000 playgrounds, and inspired a movement to give children the time and space to play.
