As a leader in sustainability for the banking industry, KeyBank was recently recognized by the Carbon Disclosure Project as a company meeting criteria for the S&P Climate Leadership Index. With programs focused on environmental reporting, a largely successful renewable energy portfolio, and programs targeting a “low carbon future,” the company moves forward by supporting transparency throughout the banking industry.

Critics have derided the trend -- which comes as food sustainability, encapsulated in the farm-to-table philosophy, gains popularity -- as “toilet-to-tap” drinking. But a new survey released this week finds a surprising number of Californians are on board with the concept.

Building on its environmental performance leadership and delivering on the pledge it made as part of the White House’s American Business Act on Climate Pledge, BNY Mellon has become carbon neutral for scope 1 and scope 2, as well as scope 3 business travel greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for 2015. It has a strategy in place to continue this commitment and will remain carbon neutral in 2016. Carbon neutrality is reached when an organization’s net GHG emissions are equal to zero.
