Each year, Cabot Creamery Cooperative, a New England cheese and dairy product producer, awards celebrities, or community volunteers from all over the United States with a yearly cruise for their service. The goal is to honor the achievements and contributions of volunteers who are making a significant difference in their communities.

Over the past 21 years, Prudential Spirit of Community Awards have been given to more than 115,000 middle and high school students across the country for helping the less fortunate, promoting health and safety, protecting the environment, and serving their communities through many other volunteer activities. Today the search begins to identify thousands more who have made meaningful contributions to their communities over the past 12 months, as the awards program kicks off its 22nd year.

ATLANTA, GA (September 8, 2016) – Commemorating the 15th anniversary of 9/11 and as part of the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, Points of Light – the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service – will launch a series of community-based service projects and a storytelling project curating profiles and stories of 9/11 responders and service members. Projects include a mobilization of 15,000 volunteers nationwide to participate in service events involving and honoring members of the military and veterans, a service project at the Washington Monument in the nation’s capital, and packing a half million meals for those in need in New York City.

Our social responsibility initiatives are centered on three primary stakeholder groups: employees, local communities and customers.

Rebuilding Together, a leading national nonprofit in safe and healthy housing that provides low-income homeowners with critical home repairs, will join together with its affiliate, Rebuilding Together Northeast Ohio, to lead its sixth annual Building a Healthy Neighborhood community revitalization project in Cleveland, Ohio. The effort will be held Sept. 23-24, 2016 in Slavic Village, a historic neighborhood on the southeast side of Cleveland. The effort is expected to provide nearly $700,000 in market value back to the community.

A person's identity is closely tied to the social role they hold. Having valued social roles can have a great impact on a person's life. Too often, people with disabilities find themselves thrust into deeply devalued roles that continue to marginalize them.

MGM Resorts International is committed to supporting public education and the teachers in our community. For the 8th year, employees from the company’s Las Vegas resorts came together during the company’s annual Back to School Drive to donate classroom supplies to teachers from the Clark County School District (CCSD).
