Subaru of America, Inc. today announced it will be hosting a pet adoption event during the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. Through a partnership with Best Friends Animal Society’s No Kill Los Angeles (NKLA) initiative, the adoption event is aimed at finding pets great homes in the Los Angeles (LA) community. The first-of-its-kind event will be held inside the Los Angeles Convention Center at the Subaru exhibit, located in the West Hall, Booth 102, where attendees will have the opportunity to adopt and take home a new dog.

Lockheed Martin employees participated in over 60 volunteer events, donated more than 170,000 volunteer hours and raised more than $8.2 million for 3,885 charitable organizations during the company’s fifth-annual “Month of Giving” in October.

Through the 2018 Subaru Share the Love® Event, from November 15, 2018, to January 2, 2019, Subaru of America will donate $250 for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased to the customer's choice of the four national charities, including Meals on Wheels, with a minimum guarantee of $250,000. In addition to these partners, local Subaru retailers have selected hundreds of hometown charities for their customers to support as well.

For Darcy Doege, R.N., B.S.N., of the Levine Cancer Institute, finding cancer early in patients means hitting the road. Darcy is the Program Coordinator for the Lung B.A.S.E.S. 4 Life Program for the Charlotte-based cancer center, which launched the first mobile lung screening unit in the U.S. in 2017. This innovative idea was built to increase the early detection of lung cancer for underserved populations across North and South Carolina, thanks to a grant from the Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation

Steve Hatfield wished he had a mentor program like Winning Futures in his high school when he was preparing for his next steps. Now “Mentor of the Year,” Steve has been volunteering for six years with Winning Futures, a Michigan-based nonprofit organization that empowers youth to succeed through mentoring, strategic planning and workforce preparation.

Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey announced today that it has been awarded with a $95,000 grant from the Subaru of America (SOA) Foundation to be paid over three years to support Girls Inc.’s work in the Camden Promise Neighborhood.
