Tyson Foods Donates $151,000, Truckload of Protein to Food Finders Food Bank

Tyson Foods announced today a $151,000 donation to Food Finders Food Bank to help fund a mobile food pantry and leverage access to federal funding for food programs. The company also donated a truckload of protein totaling 29,640 pounds, the equivalent of 118,560 servings.

With the purchase of a refrigerated box truck, the food bank’s mobile pantry will be able to increase the number of annual meals provided to the surrounding Logansport area. The grant will also help subsidize first-year costs on a SNAP Outreach Coordinator who will enroll residents in federal feeding programs.

Providing Meals and Comfort to Ronald McDonald House Families

Throughout the fall and winter, Astellas sponsored a total of 62 Changing Tomorrow Day volunteer events for field-based employees across the United States to unite and support families staying at Ronald McDonald Houses (RMH) to be near their hospitalized children. Many of the volunteers cooked meals from scratch to provide comfort and nutrition to the patients’ families, while other teams helped clean the houses to meet the needs of each RMH chapter.

Hormel Foods Donates 37,000 Cases of Food Products for Global Disaster- and Hunger-Relief Efforts

Hormel Foods Corporation today announced it has donated over 37,000 cases (600,000+ cans) of shelf-stable food products to Convoy of Hope for disaster- and other hunger-relief efforts around the world. A portion of the products donated were sent to Hawaii to help with volcano disaster-relief efforts.

Because we’re in the food business, it only makes sense for us to address hunger relief. For nearly two decades Tyson has had formal programs in place to aid hunger relief organizations and disaster relief efforts through product donations, volunteer efforts, grants and more.

We are now testing social enterprise initiatives that include connecting our K-12 Foodservice and Poultry group with hunger relief organizations to pilot programs aimed at solving hunger insecurity for children.

Morgan Stanley Foundation today announced over $1,500,000 in grants to local food banks in 29 cities across 20 states to support hunger-relief programs that deliver food assistance and healthy meals to children and families. These grants are part of our most recent commitment, bringing our support total to more than $23 million to 200 Feeding America member food banks to help launch, build upon and sustain critical child nutrition programs through child hunger grants and expand access to fresh produce through produce grants.
