Shaping the Future of #Sustainable Business- Achieving the skills 2 guide green business at dawn of new decade

Sustainability challenges businesses of all shapes and activities around the world to rethink their missions and to re-structure their operations, core business priorities and communication channels.

Pressures on business to achieve a triple bottom line balance force them to make decisions that simultaneously consider and advance green operations and green business as a whole.
“Becoming Green” for a business is not just a recent trend at the international level, but a sign of introspection, where businesses re-evaluate the way they work and expand. Although sustainable development has been in the epicenter of the business community for quite some time, for many industries it remains hard to quantify, define, adopt and communicate the notion of green business. It is imperative though, in this economy, to set out to do with the “bottom line” benefits in mind.

(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) July 29, 2010 - In order to simultaneously achieve economic development, social justice and environmental protection, each organization will need to strategically plan and implement a holistic approach to corporate social responsibility where the environmental aspect plays a key role.

“Corporate professionals are increasingly required to be aware of the issues around Green Business and Sustainability in a new era of business,” says Nikos Avlonas, Co-founder of the Centre for Sustainability and Excellence (CSE).
The CSE’s Accredited Sustainability (CSR) Practitioner’s Workshop is certified by the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA), and is designed for all professionals responsible for the management of CSR, Marketing, and Public Relations activities. This workshop focuses on the non-financial sustainability activities of the organization that are tied to the financial performance of the company. The IEMA certified workshop allows each participant to become a Certified CSR Practitioner, upon successful completion of a Final Project.
General Managers, Public Relations Managers and Sustainability and Environmental Professionals will advance their CSR understanding, acquire the skill and knowledge that will bring added value and authenticity to their company, and also earn an official business qualification. The next IEMA certified workshop is scheduled for September 14-15, 2010 in Washington DC.
