Kansas City, MO, August 18, 2014 /3BL Media/ - Olympic diver Paola Espinosa and Children International’s agency in Mexico recently signed an agreement to work together to promote healthy lifestyles for children and youth through sports.

Espinosa knows the value of participating in sports activities. As a result, in 2013, she started the Paola Espinosa Foundation. Its mission is to promote physical activity to help fight obesity and child bullying by providing the tools for creating healthy habits and building self-esteem. Similarly, Children International’s Sports for Development program is an organized sports program that encourages children and youth to be active and teaches players skills like teamwork, goal setting, responsibility and conflict resolution, which help them develop into well-rounded, confident young individuals.

By signing the agreement, both institutions are committing to working together to promote healthy lifestyles for children and youth. This includes creating an environment for positive relationships to form and self-esteem to grow, while helping young people avoid pitfalls like drugs, alcohol, gangs and violence by providing sports as an alternative.

Paola Espinosa and Children International are convinced that, by working together, they will be able to have a greater impact and hope that other institutions will join them in their efforts.
