KOHLER, Wis., September 10, 2021 /3BL Media/ - Kohler Co., a global leader in the innovation and manufacture of plumbing products; tile, cabinetry and lighting; and engines, generators and clean energy solutions, announces that it has been recognized with The Business Intelligence Group's Sustainability Leadership Award in the 2021 Sustainability Awards program. The Sustainability Awards honor people, teams and organizations who have made sustainability an integral part of their business practice or overall mission.

Kohler Co. was recognized for its efforts around KOHLER Believing in Better, the company’s sustainability and social impact strategy across three pillars: better planet, better communities and better lives. Within the Better Planet pillar, Kohler’s Environmental Sustainability team is reimagining the company’s path to net zero across operations by 2035 and working to reduce Kohler’s overall operational environmental footprint, while creating more environmentally favorable and sustainable products and services to preserve a healthy planet. This mission is embedded throughout the company and brands within Kohler’s global operations.

Kohler’s Believing in Better: Better Planet strategy empowers associates to focus on sustainability across the business through various initiatives. The company’s signature Innovation for Good program focuses on developing products and solutions for pressing global social and environmental issues. Innovation for Good's internal innovation incubator, I-Prize, invites associates from across Kohler businesses to ideate and become partners in developing these business solutions. The company’s Design for Environment, Environmental Product Declarations and Declare Label initiatives also ensure that all associates and leadership are working to bring new concepts to life that are aligned to the singular goal of achieving positive results toward a Better Planet.

“Kohler is focusing on bringing sustainability to the forefront in a meaningful and results-driven manner,” says Ratish Namboothiry, Kohler Co. Director of Innovation for Good and Sustainability. “It is an honor to be recognized by the Business Intelligence team for our work in being a more sustainable company and promoting a more sustainable world.”

“We are proud to reward and recognize Kohler for their sustainability efforts,” says Maria Jimenez, Chief Nominations Officer, Business Intelligence Group. “It was clear to our judges that their vision and strategy will continue to deliver results toward a cleaner, more sustainable world. Congratulations!”

Kohler was further recognized by Business Intelligence when Kohler Power was named a Sustainability Product of the Year winner for its Kohler Tier 4 Final KD Series Generator, an industrial-grade, diesel-powered generator that provides backup power for large hyperscale and regional global data centers.
