Keep America Beautiful TrashDash: One Day, One Movement

Sep 24, 2020 5:25 PM ET

Thank you to everyone who participated in and supported the Keep America Beautiful TrashDash last Sunday, Sept. 20! Together, from coast to coast, we plogged and collectively removed trash and recyclables from neighborhoods, parks, beaches, and more preventing litter from entering our waterways.

Plogging, a combination of jogging and picking up litter, started as an organized activity in Sweden in 2017 due to growing concerns about litter and marine debris and has since spread to other countries. Keep America Beautiful and its more than 650 community-based affiliates are leading this trend in the United States by conducting plogs to make their communities cleaner, safer, healthier, and more beautiful.
