CONTENT: Press Release

November 5, 2012 /3BL Media/ - As a survey of over 1,200 Canadians with an oversample of younger Canadians from across the country, there is conclusive evidence that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is very much valued and demanded, not only within our communities but also within our stores. An overwhelming 91% expect companies to invest in society and the environment while balancing their own business goals. They are willing to switch brands to support a cause they care about. They are even willing to travel farther to purchase these brands.

The report also surveys commitment of business in the community, what charities consumers want to see companies supporting and the value they attribute to such support.  It examines in-store donations, how they prefer companies speak about their charitable giving and how attitudes change depending on age and gender.

This report is a must read for business leaders in Canada as it (re)confirms the insatiable appetite Canadians have for ethical business. It makes evident that ‘ethical’ brands are what will become the norm in the years to come.
