We did it!

Starting at midnight on Wednesday, November 20, the Amway Universal Children’s Day came to life. Amway business owners and employees in more than 55 countries participated in volunteering, giving and advocacy with local partners.

We tracked over 100 projects, and are certain that there were many more that we may never know about. They started in Australia, moved around the world, passed through our headquarters in Ada, Michigan, and ended at our Nutrilite offices in Buena Park, California.

Our experiment with Instagram hashtags was successful, with people posting to #amwayonebyone from around the world, overwhelming our country map and making a big world feel very small.

Amway headquarters was full of yellow shirts proclaiming “10 Years. 10 Million Children.” To accommodate all three Amway manufacturing shifts, volunteering started at midnight and worked through 10:00pm.

We were joined by Chairman Steve Van Andel, President Doug DeVos and many others employees and leaders, with and without titles. By days end, over 4,000 plus employees participated.

Next week, we hope to share more results from the day, but we know that this demonstration was successful.

We know that it takes not just one day, but a long-term commitment to change the lives of those around us. That’s what Amway people have been doing for the last ten years through Amway One by One, and this day proved to ourselves that we will be doing it far into the future.
