Stanford Healthcare and HPRC conducted a pilot study with a view to developing a national recycling system that is safe, repeatable, economically viable and environmentally sound through long-term landfill avoidance.
HPRC, in collaboration with Plastics Engineering Technology students at Penn State, conducted a study that analyzed the physical properties of various blends of recycled plastics and virgin resin found in hospital areas which generate the highest volumes of packaging waste - the operating room, general floor and loading dock.
