There is no more critical component to improving the economic standard of living in developing economies than steady, reliable power. In Tanzania, only 11 percent of the population has access to reliable electricity. However, Caterpillar and the Wentworth Group in Tanzania have built a gas-to-power project that brings 24/7 power to the people of Mnazi Bay and the city of Mtwara.

Caterpillar customer, Harvest Power, and its partners – including many of Orlando, Florida’s theme parks, hotels and restaurants – are now taking 120,000 tons of organic waste every year and turning it into energy by coupling an anaerobic digester with two Cat® generator sets.

CABA also became a member of Leonardo Academy’s Educational Affiliate Program. CABA is an international not-for-profit industry association dedicated to the advancement of intelligent building technologies. Leonardo Academy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of sustainability with extensive experience in green building projects and LEED consulting.

The majority of the environmental impact created by an appliance occurs during it's in-home use and is generally 10 to 20 times higher than the impacts created during it's production, distribution or disposal life cycle phases.
