(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) ROCKVILLE, MD - July 27, 2010 - Donna Vincent Roa, Managing Partner & Chief Strategist at Vincent Roa Group, a MD-based eco-communications firm, has earned the globally-recognized Sustainability and CSR Practitioner (CSR-P) designation by the Centre for Sustainability and Excellence (CSE), an international advisory, coaching and training organization that provides corporate social responsibility and sustainable development solutions.

"The CSR-P designation distinguishes a professional as someone who is knowledgeable, confident and employs international sustainability and CSR best practices and frameworks to add significant value to their organization," says Nikos Avlonas, CSE President. "Donna joins an elite group of more than 110 certified Sustainability and CSR Practitioners representing more than 18 countries."
Accredited by the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA), the CSE certification process measures the strategic abilities and technical skills of professionals working in CSR and sustainability, and is a critical step for successful career growth.
The process consists of two parts: 1) a two-day workshop, and 2) a final project. The final project, which is evaluated by a third party to meet the rigorous standards set by IEMA, must showcase the candidate's ability to apply sustainability and CSR principles and create a strategic and tactical sustainability and CSR plan. Candidates meeting the exacting requirements earn the CSR-P designation.
"In a state and region with many environmental, sustainability and CSR firsts, I am pleased to be the first Marylander to receive this prestigious and internationally-endorsed CSR-P designation," explains Vincent Roa, an IABC-accredited business communicator who strongly supports professional credentialing and benchmarks for excellence in practice.
Vincent Roa is a rainmaker who builds best-in-class communications portfolios, a leading strategist in science, environment, and sustainability communications, and a business communications process expert who re-engineers the way organizations communicate. A current Environment Commissioner for the City of Rockville, most recently, she was Public Affairs Director and Director of Science Communications at the US Environmental Protection Agency.
