Walking for a cause: TransCanada was a chief sponsor of the 2013 Walk to Cure Diabetes in Houston this year. Dean Ferguson, Senior Vice President and General Manager U.S. Pipelines (above) chaired the fundraising effort for our Houston office.

More than 200 TransCanada employees, family and friends participated in the recent Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) 2013 Walk to Cure Diabetes in Houston. The event was captured on video and drew more than 15,000 walkers. As a chief sponsor, TransCanada was out front and center leading the fight against the disease, and many employees dedicated the day to their friends and loved ones affected by the disease.

So far, the TransCanada team has raised more than $45,000 for JDRF and the company will match up to $15,000 of employees’ contributions.
