Salt Lake City, Utah, September 17, 2013 /3BL Media/ - Verisk Health will gather hundreds of industry leaders and decision-makers for its annual healthcare conference beginning this week in Orlando, Fla. Attendees will network, collaborate, hear real-world user cases, and debate today’s healthcare challenges and opportunities under the theme “Bright Ideas Coming Together,” which reflects Verisk Health’s ongoing focus and commitment to working with clients to make a difference.

“Each year, Verisk Health brings together the best and brightest in the industry to discuss critical healthcare initiatives and innovations,” said Joel Portice, president of Verisk Health. “This annual event is essential to ensuring Verisk Health continues to be the best possible ally to its clients and remains at the forefront of healthcare market developments.”

Conference keynotes include Ian Morrison, internationally known healthcare author, consultant, and futurist, and a keynote panel entitled “Separating Myth from Reality in Payment Transformation,” comprised of David Merritt of Leavitt Partners; Kavita Patel, M.D. of the Brookings Institution; Shari Davidson of the National Business Group on Health; Michael Chernew, Ph.D. of Harvard Medical School; Brian Kiss, M.D. of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida; and Mark Piasio, M.D. of Highmark.

Conference topics will include Medicare Advantage revenue management, health insurance marketplace initiatives, accountable care trends, quality and compliance, the power of a pooled data initiative, population health management, and HEDIS reporting.

In addition to learning and networking opportunities, attendees will also have the chance to give back to the local community through the Hi-Five Kids Pack Program by the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. The program provides nutritious meals to children who do not have access to school cafeterias during the weekend. Conference participants will help create food packs with a variety of kid-friendly, shelf-stable items. Verisk Health anticipates the preparation of 2,000 food packs for the community.

“Supporting the local community is extremely important to the Verisk Health team and a vital part of our company ethos,” said Portice. “We’re honored to participate in the Hi-Five Kids Pack Program and look forward to meeting our goal of preparing 2,000 packs for children in the Central Florida region.”
