Bright Ideas Come Together: Kicking Off the Verisk Health Conference 2013

Verisk Health plays host to hundreds of industry leaders and decision-makers at our annual conference this week in Orlando, Florida. We will discuss critical healthcare initiatives and innovations that span the healthcare continuum.

For three days, we will meet with our clients to explore the healthcare industry’s emerging challenges and opportunities . We will discuss Health Insurance Marketplaces, accountable care trends, population health management, HEDIS, EDS, payment accuracy, ICD-10, STARS Ratings, clinical decision making, workforce health, and much more.

Conference keynotes include Ian Morrison, internationally known healthcare author, consultant, and futurist, who will speak on “The Future of the Healthcare Marketplace.” A keynote panel entitled “Separating Myth from Reality in Payment Transformation,” will feature David Merritt of Leavitt Partners; Kavita Patel, M.D. of the Brookings Institution; Shari Davidson of the National Business Group on Health; Michael Chernew, Ph.D. of Harvard Medical School; Brian Kiss, M.D. of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida; and Mark Piasio, M.D. of Highmark.

Giving Back, Staying Well, Having Fun

This year we will also focus on social responsibility and wellness. Attendees will prepare 2,000 food packs with a variety of kid-friendly, shelf-stable items for Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida’s Hi-Five Kids Pack Program. The program provides nutritious meals to children who do not have access to school cafeterias during the weekend.

To de-stress, participants are encouraged to golf, practice yoga, surrender to a boot camp class, attend a fly fishing seminar, on go on a canoe eco tour.

Attendees will get to dine, ride, and rub elbows with their childhood heroes at the Marvel Super Hero Island of Adventure. What’s a trip to Orlando without a run-in with a villain and a rollercoaster ride?
