(3BL Media/Justmeans) – TD Bank (TD; TSX), which calls itself “America’s Most Convenient Bank,” has taken the lead on two fronts to reinforce its efforts to support sustainable initiatives. The new areas of focus include urban forestry, forest conservation and community development as a part of the bank’s “TD Forests” program.

TD Bank has made a multi-year pledge of $1.5 million to the New York Restoration Project (NYRP) in its effort to support MillionTreesNYC program. This tree planting program is a crucial component of PlanNYC 2030, the city’s sustainability initiative. Support from TD Bank will help the program achieve its goal of planting and caring for one million trees across the five boroughs of New York by 2015.
