Sanofi releases a New Access to Medicines Brochure

(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) December 8, 2011 - Sanofi’s Access to Medicines department, part of the Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility organization, released a new version of its Access to Medicines brochure. The brochure explains our Access to Medicines mission, strategy and initiatives to contribute, with its partners to improving health of patients most in-need in developing countries. It also provides insights into four of the departments areas of focus: 

  • Making drugs more affordable - Tiered pricing program,

  • Focus on patient needs – information & education about prevention, diagnosis and treatment,

  • Innovation in R&D - developing and adapting medicines and

  • Partnerships that drive a sustainable program.

  Stakeholders will also discover our achievements with our partners:   170,000 lives - saved thanks to the access to treatment against sleeping sickness; 100 million – anti-malarial treatments sold at preferential prices that includes “no-profit-no loss” price; Public-private partnerships – for access to treatments and fight against stigmatization for patients with epilepsy and mental disorders; and Training programs for healthcare professionals, education programs for patients and information programs for communities.   Sanofi’s Access to Medicines program is focused on the following therapeutic areas:
  • Pandemic Diseases: Malaria, Tuberculosis

  • Chronic diseases: Epilepsy, Mental disorders

  • Neglected Tropical Diseases: Sleeping Sickness, Leishmaniasis, Chagas disease, Buruli Ulcer

  • Vaccine-preventable diseases
