BRIDGEWATER, N.J., October 19, 2016 /3BL Media/ – Sanofi announced today its donation of $100,000 to select non-profit organizations serving New Jersey communities at the second annual Sanofi in Our Communities, Celebrating Diversity (SOCCD) event. The program highlighted the immense diversity and talents within Sanofi’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), and the company’s sustained commitment to supporting community initiatives. Sanofi is a global life sciences company committed to improving access to healthcare and supporting the people we serve throughout the continuum of care.

Led by Sanofi North America Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the Sanofi Foundation of North America, SOCCD is an opportunity to commend the positive impact generated by select New Jersey-based non-profit organizations and to acknowledge the important work of the company’s ERGs.

The Foundation allotted each of the ERGs a total of $10,000 to fund up-to-two non-profit organizations. Selections were based on the priorities of each ERG, community needs, and how organizations addressed those needs in New Jersey. The SOCCD event is held in October to recognize National Diversity Awareness Month.

“Community support is a priority for our company, as evidenced by the relationships we’ve cultivated in New Jersey, home to our U.S. headquarters,” said Ophra Rebiere, MD, vice president, Sanofi head of Corporate Social Responsibility. “As a responsible corporate citizen and neighbor, we have a particular focus on programs that reach New Jersey residents in need. I’m inspired and proud of the work these organizations and our Employee Resource Groups do to model diversity and inclusion.”

Sanofi’s ERGs tap into a wealth of corporate diversity and offer a forum for employees to exchange ideas, network and gain exposure to different aspects of the organization. Company-supported, executive-sponsored, and employee-managed, ERGs enrich Sanofi by enhancing career development through personal and professional growth.

The SOCCD reception was held at Sanofi U.S. Headquarters in Bridgewater, N.J., and was attended by representatives from the non-profit recipient organizations, the North America CSR team, the Diversity & Inclusion Council, Sanofi leadership and the company ERGs, including ADVANCE (Alliance for DiVersificAtion, iNClusion and Enrichment), CancerConnect, CareGIVE, DiabetesConnect, MILL (Millennials Influencing Learning & Leadership), ParentsConnect, PRIDE Connect, V.E.T.S., and WISE (Women Inspiring Sanofi Excellence).
