Rockwell Automation: Harbor View Plaza Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Rockwell Automation is proud to be the naming sponsor of Harbor View Plaza, the first waterfront public park in Milwaukee’s Harbor District. The plaza opened in July 2019 and is located at the east end of Greenfield Avenue in front of the UWM School of Freshwater Sciences. Harbor District, Inc. constructed the winning plaza design, which includes a play structure for children, a water play area and water feature, and the only public canoe/kayak launch and dock area south of the Milwaukee River in Milwaukee’s inner harbor.

Rockwell helped to fund the project with a $600,000 donation and conducted an internal process with the company’s employees to determine the park’s name. The name, Harbor View Plaza, immediately conveys the main attraction of the plaza, a fantastic view of Milwaukee’s harbor and port. The plaza has become a go-to destination for Milwaukee residents and visitors interested in watching activities at Jones Island. Harbor View Plaza provides a relaxing place for people to sit, eat lunch, or bring children to play and experience Milwaukee’s working waterfront.
