(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) New York, New York - September 13, 2011 - Recyclebank®, the company that rewards people for taking everyday green actions with discounts and deals from local and national businesses, today announced that its Chief Revenue Officer Samantha Skey will participate in a panel discussing the impact of real and virtual rewards on consumer motivation on September 15 at the Gamification Summit in New York City. The annual conference brings together the some of the most influential startups, big brands, governments and non-profits changing the way their organizations engage and relate to their customers and employees.

In the panel discussion, “Real vs. Virtual Rewards: The Battle Over Consumer Motivation,” Skey will join fellow panelists from Google, Inc. Magazine, Badgeville and Kiip to share experiences, research, data and best practices around how to design a rewards system that is in line with evolving consumer desires.Loyalty programs have historically offered physical-world rewards, and conventional wisdom says that consumers must be able to earn real goods to be satisfied. Many argue that location-based networks like Foursquare won’t reach their full potential until they can offer tangible rewards, while others argue social and video games rarely offer rewards and are hugely successful. Skey and her fellow panelists will discuss both sides of the debate and uncover winning approaches to motivating today’s consumer.   Beginning her digital career in 1994 by starting Interactive Imaginations’ award-winning Riddler, one of the web’s first real-time, multi-player, reward-based gaming sites, Skey works with Recyclebank brand partners such as AVEENO®, Coca-Cola® and Kashi to create marketing campaigns that engage and inspire consumers around sustainable action. Since joining the company in 2010, Skey has also played an essential role in guiding the expansion of Recyclebank’s digital platform and online rewards programs. Prior to Recyclebank, she has held various strategic digital development roles at Walt Disney Company, CNET, Alloy Inc. and Passenger Inc.   The details for the session are as follows:   Who:         Samantha Skey, Chief Revenue Officer, Recyclebank                  Christine Lagorio, Senior Online Editor, Inc.
