New York, May 9, 2014 /3BL Media/ – Today, President Obama announced more than 300 private and public sector commitments to create jobs and cut carbon pollution by advancing solar deployment and energy efficiency. As part of Citi’s larger $2.25 billion financing goal for energy efficiency and distributed generation announced this week at the Better Buildings Challenge Summit in Washington, D.C., Citi will target $1 billion specifically for solar distributed generation over the next three years.

Last month, Citi announced it had surpassed its 10-year, $50 billion goal to finance renewable energy and clean technology announced in 2007. By the end of 2013, Citi had directed $53.9 billion towards these efforts. Citi is currently developing a new target with the aim of catalyzing additional environmental financing.
