The Power of Giving at Duke Energy

Today is #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving during which individuals, families and communities come together to donate their time or money to a worthy cause. Giving back to the communities in which we live and work is an integral part of Duke Energy's commitment to our customers – on #GivingTuesday and every day of the year.

This year, our employees proudly answered the call of service. Through our recently concluded 2018 Power of Giving campaign, Duke Energy’s employees donated $5.3 million to over 3,700 different nonprofit organizations serving our communities. Combined with the Duke Energy Foundation matching gifts, that’s more than $10 million to support our communities. Now, that is powerful. Our employees are also giving their time. During the holiday season, our employees are participating in dozens of company-organized and employee-led service projects across our operating footprint. So far this year, employees have served more than 100,000 volunteer hours through our Duke Energy In Action program.
