WASHINGTON, September 4, 2014 /3BL Media/ – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NW&RA) today announced the formation of a chapter in Colorado.

The Colorado Chapter joined the Alabama Chapter and the Northern New England Chapter (representing companies in Maine and New Hampshire) as the third new chapter of NW&RA to form in less than 16 months. NW&RA currently has 27 chapters operating in 29 states, the District of Columbia and New York City.

NW&RA members operating in Colorado met in Denver last month and voted to form the Chapter to address critical local issues together and provide opportunities for education. The group plans to meet again in November to formally elect its leadership and establish direction for the new chapter. Members cited the need to work together to ensure the industry can continue to run environmentally sound businesses free from unnecessarily burdensome regulations.

NW&RA President and CEO Sharon H. Kneiss stated, “It is important that the industry has a strong voice at the local and state levels, so we are pleased to welcome this new chapter and will work to ensure we provide them with strong support. I congratulate the members of the Colorado Chapter on its creation and look forward to working with them. I am optimistic that we will see additional new chapters as we move to ensure the industry is well represented throughout the country.”
