Huntsman Pigments’ Greatham Site Wins Prestigious 2013 Chemical Industry Association Responsible Care Award

July 3, 2013 /3BL Media/- Huntsman’s Greatham manufacturing site has beaten over 40 contenders to win this year’s prestigious Chemical Industry Association (CIA) Responsible Care Award.

Gary Conroy, site director, was delighted. “Aligning our vision of Zero Harm with the CIA’s responsible care principles has helped transform our site performance”, he said. “The engagement of all our employees, contractors and our supply chain is fundamental to our continued success. We want everyone at Greatham site to share our vision and to participate in our on-going continuous improvement programmes”.

Winners of the 2013 CIA’s annual chemical industry awards were announced last week at a packed awards ceremony, held in York. Steve Elliott, CIA Chief Executive said, “Responsible Care is the chemical industry’s commitment to continual improvement in all aspects of health, safety and environmental performance. Only those meeting best in class standards from the annual indicators of performance are invited to enter. Greatham site’s ‘Zero Harm’ culture initiative stood out as leading excellent EHS communications across the site. We were impressed with the enthusiasm and commitment of the Zero Harm champion team and their interaction with the wider workforce.”
