Home2 Suites by Hilton Selects Mid-South Food Bank as Corporate Partner for its Your2Hands Charity Program

Brand team members donate 10,000 meals and participate in volunteer activities to commemorate Home2’s one year anniversary

(3BL Media) McLean, VA - April 11, 2012 - Home2 Suites by Hilton, the award-winning, mid-tier extended-stay hotel brand, is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its launch with the announcement of its official Your2 Hands program corporate partner, Mid-South Food Bank.  

Yesterday, the hotel brand kicked off the partnership with a special event where Bill Duncan, global head of brand management for Home2 Suites, presented a $5,000 donation to the organization’s CEO, Estella Mayhue-Greer. The donation represents the equivalent of 10,000 meals.

Seventeen Home 2 Suites, and sister brand Homewood Suites, team members participated in a tour of Mid-South Food Bank that ended in the agency shopping area where they volunteered by counting and packaging rice for meals. The Home2 Suites and Homewood Suites team members packaged over 3,700 pounds of rice, resulting in approximately 3,000 meals for Mid-South Food Bank.

The Your2 Hands program is implemented at each Home2 Suites, and aims to help the hotels connect with the communities in which they are located on a deeper level, in order to make the biggest impact and provide aid where it is most needed. The Mid-South Food Bank program impacts 200,000 people every year.
