Green Awakening™ Fair Trade, Organic Coffee Expands its Support of Non-Profit Organizations: Ten Non-Profits to Receive Financial Support.

(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) Winterpark, FL - JULY 22, 2010 - Green Awakening Coffee (www.green-awakening.com), an inclusive and socially responsible, fair trade, organic coffee company announced today that it has expanded its roster of non-profit partners. Green Awakening donates approximately 30% of the proceeds from every bag of coffee sold.

The program was initially launched with TransFair USA as the charter non-profit partner.  TransFair USA’s participation in this program has garnered much attention and underscores the value of the partnerships.

Green Awakening allocates approximately 30% of every sale it makes to non-profit contributions.  All coffee is grown exclusively by small, local cooperatives in the mountains of Peru.

Green Awakening works directly with small cooperatives to source organically grown coffee, which results in an increase in farmer income by at least 30% when compared with farmer sales to importers. Additionally, a core focus of Green Awakening is to improve the lives of women and their social, economic and political status within their communities.
