(theCSRfeed/3BLMedia) Winterpark, FL  - June 30th, 2010 –  Green Awakening Coffee, an inclusive and socially responsible, fair trade, organic coffee company has recently partnered with TransFair USA as part of its overall mission to raise funds for non-profit and educational organizations.

From July 9th through July 30th - TransFair USA will receive $2.50 for every bag of Green Awakening’s delicious, all-organic, 100%-Fair Trade Certified™ coffee grown exclusively by small, local cooperatives in the mountains of Peru.

“We are proud to partner with Green Awakening as a recipient of the donations generated through this program,” said Rachael Lee Holstein, Senior Manager of TransFair USA. “And we applaud Green Awakening’s commitment to produce socially and environmentally responsible products that are both fair trade and organic.”

Fair Trade offers consumers a powerful way to reduce poverty through their everyday shopping. An alternative approach to conventional trade, Fair Trade offers farmers and workers in developing countries better prices, improved terms of trade, safe working conditions and the opportunity to improve their lives and plan for their futures. Despite the global economic downturn, in 2009 Fair Trade farmers and workers earned more additional income than ever before—$45 million—including $14 million in community development funds that were invested in life-changing social and economic programs such as schools, healthcare and reforestation. To support Fair Trade, consumers simply choose from the more than 6,000 products that feature the Fair Trade Certified logo.

Green Awakening is the only coffee company that allocates non-profit contributions from 100% its coffee sales.  To maximize profits and contributions, while minimizing environmental impacts associated with transport and distribution of product, Green Awakening coffee may only be purchased on line at Green Awakening or its non-profit partners’ websites.

Green Awakening works directly with small cooperatives to source organically grown coffee, which results in an increase in farmer income by at least 30% when compared with farmer sales to importers. Additionally, a core focus of Green Awakening is to improve the lives of women and their social, economic and political status within their communities.
