Where to Find Free Environment, Health, & Safety Webinars

Even if you’re contending with a tight budget, there are several organizations that offer free, insight-packed webinar learning opportunities. To make it easy on you, we’ve already done some of the research. Below are some free health and safety webinar resources to consider.

1. EHS Today

Who: You know EHS Today as a leading magazine for EHS management professionals in the United States. Via the EHS Today blog, EHS leaders can access industry news, updates, and trends. But the publication also offers a selection of webinars covering a wide range of topics.

What: EHS Today webinars offer information, advice, and analysis from industry leaders on a variety of workplace safety, sustainability, and risk management topics.

Where: You can access the complete library of EHS Today webinars at https://www.ehstoday.com/webinars.

When: EHS Today typically rolls out about two-to-five new webinars each month. You can rewatch the webinars long after they’ve first aired, too.

Why: As the leading EHS magazine in the United States, EHS Today webinars can provide you with timely, relevant insights and advice from other industry pros. Plus, the webinars are free!

2. Safety+Health

Who:Safety+Health is an environment, health, and safety magazine published by the National Safety Council, offering national coverage of occupational safety news and industry trends.

What: During most Safety+Health webinars, two or three industry professionals discuss the topic at hand. Topics range from common occupational health and safety issues, like compliance, to risk and contractor management, and virtually everything in between.

When: Safety+Health hosts roughly two webinars a month, and you don’t want to miss them. There is also a list of archived webinars so you can revisit old topics at any time.

Why: Safety+Health is an authority on a wide variety of safety issues, including working with animals, driving, heat stress, holiday safety, and office safety — just to name a few.

3. OSHA

Who: The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) needs no introduction. As a health and safety pro, you know that OSHA is the United States government agency that exists to set standards for safe and healthy working conditions.

What: OSHA’s free webinars typically last an hour and cover a wide range of occupational health and safety topics.

4. Environment + Energy Leader

Who: Environment + Energy Leader (E+E Leader) is dedicated to providing news, best practices, and research on all things environment, energy, and sustainability.

What: E+E Leader offers live and archived webinars on topics related to environment, energy, and sustainability. They also offer other educational resources such as E-Books and Whitepapers.

When: Live webinars are typically offered twice a month along with a list of on-demand webinars available to watch at any time!

Why: E+E Leader works with a wide range of professional resources to help you gain insight and information on how to tackle the latest E+E challenges.

Where to Find Low-Cost or Free-With-Membership Environment, Health, & Safety Webinars

By paying a small fee, or becoming a member of some well-known, EHS-focused organizations, you can gain access to even more webinars that are chock full of industry knowledge, best practices, and ways to improve your sustainability strategy.

5. National Safety Council

Who: The National Safety Council (NSC) is a nonprofit public service organization committed to promoting health and safety in the United States. The organization focuses on reducing the number of preventable deaths in the workplace, at home, and in the community through leadership, research, education, and advocacy.

What:  With a membership to the NSC, you can download webinars, podcasts, safety videos, presentations, and toolkits to increase your knowledge about the EHS industry.

Where: Log in, become a member, or access the NSC’s webinar archive at  https://www.nsc.org/membership/training-tools/webinars-audio-library.

When: The NSC invites users to download their webinars, so you can easily access them at any time.

Why: Education is a core tenant of the NSC, so you can expect the best, most up-to-date industry information. These exclusive webinars are only available to NSC members, which means by becoming a member, you’ll gain access to information others simply won’t find online.

6. National Association for Environmental Management (NAEM)

Who: The National Association for Environmental Management (NAEM) is a professional association empowering corporate leaders throughout the country to advance environmental stewardship, create safe and healthy workplaces, and promote sustainability.

What: NAEM offers timely and relevant insights that will expand your knowledge of the EHS industry. NAEM webinars cover the issues that matter most to environmental, health and safety, and sustainability professionals.

When: Once or twice a month, NAEM releases an exclusive webinar available free to their members, and available to the public for a small fee.

Why: Webinars are one of NAEM’s key offerings. They are experts at creating webinars that engage EHS leaders in unique ways, while sharing industry updates and research.

7. American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA)

Who: The American Industrial Hygiene Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting worker health and the prevention of injury, illness, and impairment.

What: The AIHA offers new and archived webinars covering topics such as hazardous disease, chemical use, air sampling, ethics, and more.

When: AIHA webinars typically last 60 to 90 minutes and the release schedule varies each month.

Why: Unlike most of our other favorite EHS webinar hosts, the AIHA most often covers topics of chemical use and safety in the workplace.

8. TED

If you are looking for a slightly different format to stay up to date on EHS topics, check out some of the resources offered by TED.

Who: TED is a nonpartisan nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas on a global scale. TED offers powerful, educational content on subjects from science to business and everything in between.

What: TED has an extensive collection of videos covering an array of environmental topics. You can access most of their content for free but there is also a monthly membership option that gives members access to exclusive content and deeper discussions.

Where: You can find resources on the topic of environment at https://www.ted.com/topics/environment

When: TED is consistently releasing new content including talks, podcasts, videos, and more. For a fee, you can sign up for TED Live to see the talks and discussions in real-time.

Why: TED draws content from a global community, offering different perspectives and insights on the timeliest and most relevant content.
