(3BL Media) Camden, NJ - May 8, 2012 - Denise Morrison, President and CEO, Campbell Soup Company (NYSE:CPB) today announced that Campbell will donate one million pounds of food to Feeding America to recognize the efforts of the 210,000 members of the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) who will help Stamp Out Hunger across America on Saturday, May 12.

The donation announcement was made at the conclusion of a Stamp Out Hunger food drive ceremony at Campbell’s World Headquarters in Camden, N.J. Over the past 20 years, the food drive has grown from a regional to a national effort that provides critical assistance to millions of Americans in over 10,000 communities.

“As a food company, we recognize that more than 49 million Americans, including 16 million children, are at risk for going hungry on a daily basis,” said Morrison. “Our million pound donation will provide assistance in additional communities and is intended to be a catalyst for millions of caring Americans to provide crucial support for their neighbors in need.”

Feeding America distributes 3 billion pounds of donated food and grocery products annually. But the need becomes even greater in the summer months, when children are out of school and no longer able to receive subsidized breakfast and lunch benefits. Local food banks and feeding organizations are called upon to fill this gap.
