The BSR Conference 2013, “The Power of Networks,” will take place November 5 through 8 at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero in San Francisco. The Conference will bring together more than 1,000 leaders in business and sustainability from around the world to share their expertise and knowledge.

The advance registration opportunity—the last chance to receive a registration discount of up to US$350—ends September 30.

Additional speakers at this year’s event include:

George R. Roberts, Co-Chairman and Co-CEO, KKR: Roberts, who co-founded KKR in 1976 and is currently co-chairman and co-CEO, is actively involved in managing the firm and serves on each of the regional private equity investment and portfolio management committees. Roberts has served as a director or trustee of several cultural and educational institutions, including Claremont McKenna College. He is also founder and chairman of the board of directors of REDF, a San Francisco-based venture philanthropy organization that creates jobs and employment opportunities for people facing the greatest barriers to work. Roberts has more than four decades of experience financing, analyzing, and investing in public and private companies, as well as serving on the boards of a number of KKR portfolio companies.

Jacques Perrin, actor, producer, and director, Galatée Film Productions, Oceans: Perrin first became known to French and international mainstream audiences as an actor. At age 27, he started his own production company and caused a sensation with Z, a film directed by Costa-Gavras and starring Yves Montand, Jean-Louis Trintignant, and François Périer. A worldwide hit, Z won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1970. This was the start of a fruitful partnership with Costa-Gavras, with whom Perrin produced State of Siege (1973) and Special Section (1975), both of which were nominated for Golden Globes. For several years, Perrin devoted himself to producing and directing Winged Migration, a 2001 documentary about birds migrating around the world, which he codirected with Jacques Cluzaud and Michel Debats. After four years of filming in 50 different locations, Oceans was released in 2010 in France and the United States. Almost 12 million viewers worldwide have seen the film, which Perrin codirected with Cluzaud. His production company, Galatée Films, is pursuing many new projects, including Seasons, a naturalistic film that the team is scheduled to start shooting soon.

François Sarano, marine biologist and commercial diver, Galatée Film Productions, Oceans: François Sarano is a former Calypso diver, expedition leader, and scientific advisor to Captain Jacques-Yves Cousteau. He is also a former research and scientific advisor to the Deep Ocean Odyssey project. Sarano was president and founder of Longitude 181 NATURE, launched in 2002 with the publication of the International Guidelines for Responsible Divers, which has been translated into 22 languages. He most recently served as diver, cowriter, and scientific advisor for Oceans and cowriter of the TV series The Kingdom of the Oceans, which also was directed by Perrin and Cluzaud. Sarano is the author of many books, including Madagascar, The Island of Spirits; Oceans; and Wild Encounters.
