October 10, 2013 /3BL Media/ - Rail technology leader Bombardier Transportation has teamed up with Infotech Enterprises to build a new science laboratory at Zilla Parishad Gachibowli High School, in Khajaguda, Hyderabad. This local school support, which enters its third year, is another example of Bombardier’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in India and marks the10th anniversary of the engineering partnership between Bombardier and Infotech Enterprises.

Zilla Parishad Gachibowli High School is located near Bombardier’s Engineering Centre India (BTECI), home to over 400 engineers serving Bombardier projects around the world including Indian projects such as Delhi Metro.

Harsh Dhingra, Chief Country Representative, Bombardier Transportation India, said: “We all know that education opens up opportunities in our lives. The laboratory will give insight into the fascinating world of technology and motivate children to pursue their studies and careers in STEM fields. This investment is another step towards building strong communities and growing local roots in our key market India.”

Earlier this year, Bombardier and Infotech opened new sanitation facilities at the Zilla Parishad Khajaguda School, also near the BTECI. This partnership led to the development of a school playground for the schoolchildren along with upgrading classroom furniture to provide an inspiring learning environment.

Ashok Reddy, President Global Human Resources and Corporate Affairs, Infotech Enterprises, said: “Infotech Enterprises Charitable Trust (IECT) is dedicated towards improving the quality of education imparted to underprivileged children at schools that lack basic amenities. IECT has made remarkable progress by adopting 13 schools in the neighbourhood of our facilities in South India and by supporting more than 7,000 underprivileged children to date. It’s gratifying to see that our customer Bombardier shares our vision.”
