(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) February 23, 2012 - In California and Texas, Balfour Beatty Construction employees showed a little love in honor of Valentine’s Day and National Salute to Veteran Patients Week (February 12 – 18). Teaming up with children at elementary schools in the Dallas and San Diego areas, company employees helped create and deliver 1,300 Valentine’s Day cards for veterans.

“The kids wrote wonderful messages in their cards,” said Lyudmila Mironova, a member of Balfour Beatty Constructions marketing department in the Southwest division. “It really felt like they cared and wanted to brighten their spirits.”

In addition to the heart-felt Valentines, Balfour Beatty Construction employees delivered gifts and other donated items to the current and former servicemen and women being treated at Veterans Administration hospitals in the Dallas and San Diego areas and at the Wounded Warrior Bachelor Enlisted Quarters at Camp Pendleton. Gifts included snacks, candy, magazines, puzzle books, and playing cards.
