Campaign: WisdomKeepers.tv

PORTLAND, Oregon, October 1, 2015 /3BL Media/ - Ruth Ann Barrett of EarthSayers.tv joins with Ilarion Merculieff (Aleut) of the Global Center for Indigenous Leadership and Lifeways to seek funding for the development of WisdomKeepers.tv, a Web-based search engine or gateway to curated video content advancing the Indigenous voices of sustainability as well as those of our citizens, from all walks of life, who address environmental, social, cultural and economic issues as part of their work on behalf of Mother Earth, her children, and the next seven generations to come.

Our team is uniquely positioned to help carry forward, with our broad base of skills and expertise, the Elders’ call for a change in consciousness, a move from head to heart guided by the Laws of Nature, a weave of nature with humankind. Additionally our objective is for our wisdomkeepers to be found in top search results, consistently and frequently, using a blended taxonomy of Indigenous and sustainability-related search terms to increase “findability” and engagement.

Given the intense commercialization of the Web it's easy to loose sight of its educational, spiritual and consciousness raising value in changing behavior and attitudes, especially with the advent of online video favoring as it does the oral tradition, storytelling, and ceremonies. Now is the time to use it more effectively on behalf of the Elders and for our citizens by blending, as but one example, Indigenous and Western Climate Science as an important element of the connectedness that must occur in this time of global warming.

We invite you to visit www.earthsayers.tv, voices of sustainability as background to our proposal. Use EarthSayers.tv to see for yourself the value of curation to deliver organized, relevant and quality content; to experience the power of online video to educate and motivate; and to learn and appreciate the number and breadth of voices ready to be discovered and heard. WisdomKeepers.tv may be viewed as a sister site to EarthSayers.tv, one system with different “skins” and shared content. Customizing rather than starting from scratch enables our team to launch WisdomKeepers.tv affordably and in a relatively short period of time, while reducing risk on what is to be delivered in terms of look, feel, and content.

The EarthSayers’ special collection of WisdomKeepers is an excellent starting point especially the video, Use of the Term Sustainability featuring Ilarion Merculieff (Aleut) for it’s Ilarion who inspires and guides us on this project. (http://bit.ly/sistersite)

Ilarion Merculieff has joined our team as our Guide. He joins Ruth Ann Barrett, project director; Geoff Clevenger, web software developer; JoAnne O'Brien-Levin, taxonomy director; Rose Cassano, creative director; and Losang Monlam, finance director.

We invite comments and are appreciative of recommendations made on our behalf to funding organizations and individual contributors to connect with us.

Quotes

“We each have to do our piece and the time is NOW according to the Elders I work with. There is no more time for dawdling.” Ilarion Merculieff in an email to Ruth Ann Barrett about the timing of WisdomKeepers.tv.

“We don't have a word for sustainability because we live it.”

–Ilarion Merculieff, Guide, WisdomKeepers.tv

“Do a search on wisdom and find in the top page rankings Psychology Today. Not exactly what you had in mind?  This is just one of the reasons I want to create a gateway to the Indigenous Voices of Sustainability. We're calling it wisdomkeepers.tv, a sister site to EarthSayers.tv.
