In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Women@AEG employee network group hosted a career exploration event “Women in Sports and Entertainment” for more than 25 female students from the nonprofit organizations Our Own and Brotherhood Crusade as part of the AEG Futures Career Exploration program.

The event, which took place at Crypto.com Arena on March 29, 2022, offered student the chance to learn about careers in the sports and live music industry and featured welcome remarks from Martha Saucedo, Chief External Affairs Officer, and a panel discussion moderated by Jae Requiro, Vice President, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion with Women @ AEG employee network group members, Lilia Chakarian, Crystal Ellis, Tamala Lewis, and Gail Stoltz in Crypto.com Arena’s Pepperdine Learning Center.

Following the panel, students were paired with AEG team members to receive one-on-one mentorship and advice on personal development and future career opportunities while enjoying dinner and watching an NBA game from the suites at Crypto.com Arena.

“The Women@AEG employee network group aims to inspire, empower, and mentor the next generation of women leaders by giving these young ladies a chance to hear directly from people working in the industry,” said Nina Taylor, one of the leaders of the Women@AEG employee network group. “As is the case in so many industries, young women often don’t realize the career opportunities that exist in sports and live music today and AEG is working hard to change that perception.”

“What I enjoyed most about the AEG Futures program, is how authentic and engaging it was for our students,” said Lee Johnson, Co-Founder, Our Own. “Providing young women access to pathways is keys to dismantling disparities in career placement. We look forward to future moments with our students.”

The AEG Futures Career Exploration program offers high school and college age students the chance to learn first-hand from industry professionals about career opportunities in sports and live music. Over the years, AEG has hosted multiple in-person and virtual events in conjunction with it music festivals including Goldenvoice’s Day N Vegas, Arroyo Seco Weekend and the BET’s BET Experience Youth Program at L.A. LIVE, among others.
