SocialEarth, a 3BL Media Company

(3BL Media) March 13, 2012 - Northampton, MA  - 3BL Media (http://3blmedia.com), the leading distributor of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability news and content, has announced the acquisition of SocialEarth (http://socialearth.org), the leading web-based community for social innovation, social entrepreneurship and social enterprise content and thought leadership. This acquisition further expands 3BL Media’s news and content distribution network, and gives additional reach to more than 160 contributing writers and bloggers from 25 countries around the globe who already contribute to SocialEarth.

Founded in 2009 by social entrepreneurs Erik Eliason, Tristan Pollock and Naiomi Bisram, SocialEarth has amassed one of the most influential networks in social innovation and entrepreneurship, including Ashoka, Opportunity International and The Acumen Fund. Additionally, SocialEarth boasts a social media following and presence that exceeds many major news networks. SocialEarth continues to be at the forefront of the social enterprise movement as reflected in the continued growth of its contributors and partnerships.

This latest purchase by 3BL Media follows the acquisition of Justmeans.com last July and additional distribution partnerships announced last month with PR Newswire and SmartBrief On Sustainability.

“Our primary focus is to continue to raise awareness for our clients’ CSR, sustainability and cause-related news through the use of technology and the expansion of our distribution network. In addition to the aggressive, organic growth of our multi-channel distribution network, we are always open to acquisitions and partnerships that will benefit our clients, contributors and the CSR space at large,” said Greg Schneider, CEO and Co-Founder of 3BL Media. “SocialEarth’s presence in the growing field of social innovation is a perfect fit.”

"As the conversation around social innovation and entrepreneurship continues to grow, we want to make sure that the SocialEarth community continues to be an active part of the dialogue. Becoming a part of the 3BL Media group ensures that the voices on SocialEarth will have the best and broadest platform through which to be heard.  We are also excited be able to highlight some of the leading organizations already working with 3BL Media and Justmeans,” stated Tristan Pollock, Co-Founder of SocialEarth.org.

3BL Media will work closely with SocialEarth’s founders to ensure their original vision is maintained and nurtured, and will immediately begin cross-promoting content to bring even greater awareness to the contributors and clients.
